Spring salmon fishing on Lake Superior started yesterday for Happy Hooker Charters.
This is the earliest season start for us in 25 years of charter fishing. The water was still very cold, (upper 30’s) but we found a few biting coho’s that were congregated near the Superior entry, where the warmer water from the St Louis river meets the cold lake waters. The bite ended as boats converged on the spot and the water went calm. We had a crew of 4 kids and their dads. They had a great time fishing and enjoying the sunny weather and calm winds.
